We’ve been listed as one of The Best Local SEO Companies!

Each Google review your business gets can deliver a ranking boost – and sometimes it can be a big boost! Getting folks to actually write a review on Google can be tricky and challenging so here’s an Idea:

Two days ago, an awesome new Yelp review came in for a client. Just read what this very happy customer has to say! – Way to go West Coast Spas!

The problem is, this is their first review they’ve written on Yelp so they are not an “Active Yelper”, so after displaying for about 3 to 5 days for the delighted business owner, this review will get “Filtered Out” and will not count towards this businesses rating average or rankings on Yelp. What a bummer! This has likely happened to you too. Yelp SUCKS.

WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS:
1) Explore your Filtered Reviews on Yelp to find your happiest customers
2) Reach out to them via email asking them to do you a favor by copy/pasting their review on to your Google listing.

** DO NOT offer any incentives or rewards to Yelpers with this request.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS

STEP 1: Log In to your Yelp for Business Owners Dashboard and click on the Reviews Tab. We’ll use Savory Cuisines as our example. They have 27 Yelp reviews and 22 legit filtered reviews. Yikes.

STEP 2: Scroll down to the very bottom where you will find a sneaky link that is not obviously clickable. That’s where you can see all the reviews that you actually got that Yelp is hiding.

STEP 3: Copy / Paste these reviews into a document. Do you know who these customers are? You may have their info on file. Highlight the customers you recognize and would feel comfortable reaching out to via email. Check to see that they did not already write you a Google review!

STEP 4: Email these customers asking for a Google review. Here’s how to do it – A brief, personal, actionable request for a favor with a direct link to your Google listing.

EMAIL SUBJECT: Would you do us a favor?
Hi Kathy, Thanks so much for your awesome review on Yelp. We really appreciate it! Unfortunately for some reason Yelp is hiding your review from view. Could you do us a big favor and copy your review and paste it to our Google listing so it actually shows up online?

Here’s what you wrote on Yelp:
The best food I have had at an event in Boulder ever!  Best service too.

Each Google review helps us rank better on Google so doing this would be really helpful for our business.

Thanks so much!!

STEP 5: Extra Credit Bonus. If you are not feeling timid about this process, you could repeat this process for the UNFILTERED Yelp reviews as well. Your email would look more like this:

EMAIL SUBJECT: Would you do us a favor?
Hi Alexis, Thanks so much for your awesome review on Yelp after your holiday party. Could you do us a big favor and copy your review and paste it to our Google listing too? Each Google review helps us rank better on Google so doing this would be really helpful for our business.

Here’s what you wrote on Yelp:
AMAZING! Rachel and her team were perfection. We called upon Savory for our annual Holiday Party (25 people). They worked with us to create a delicious gluten free dinner that included, salmon, chicken, a seasonal salad and pumpkin cheesecake. Everyone went back for 2nds and some even 3rds – it was THAT good. They brought in gorgeous bouquets to top the tables and were extremely friendly and professional. Do yourself a favor and call Savory! You won’t regret it!.

Thanks so much!! We really appreciate it!
